NEW YORK — Regulators continued their search for a solution to First Republic Bank’s woes over the weekend before stock markets were set to open Monday.San Francisco-based First Republic has struggled since the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank in early March, as investors and depositors have grown increasingly worried that the bank may not survive as an independent entity for much longer. The bank’s stock closed at $3.51 on Friday, a fraction of the roughly $170 a share it traded for a year ago.First Republic has been seen as the most likely next bank to collapse due to its high amount of uninsured deposits and exposure to low interest rates.Gary Cohn, a former Goldman Sachs president who served as President Donald Trump’s top economic adviser, told CBS News’ “Face the Nation” on Sunday that the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation “would prefer to sell the bank in its entirety than in pieces.”“What will most l...BPS introduces Shaw-Taylor and Sumner-Philbrick merger proposals

And we’ve spoken about the need to roll out inclusion. A former MBTA executive and the current head of its budget review agency says revelations that some system managers are living far away from the hundreds of cities and towns serviced by the T does not adequately reflect the response the network requires from its leaders.“A place like the MBTA, where things are clearly not working well, it really needs to be all hands on deck all the time, in person, especially on construction projects and especially out in places like Springfield where they’re making those new Red and Orange line cars that we know are not working properly,” MBTA Advisory Board executive director Brian Kane said.Kane, speaking with WBZ’s Jon Keller for the political analyst’s recurring Sunday segment, said news that several MBTA managers involved in capital improvement projects — all making hundreds of thousands of dollars per year — were on the state payroll despite living nowhere near the construction they were responsible for managing, isn’t necessarily a surprise...A Shot For Life: First football event scores
